Membership Type Description
Regular

Regular Membership in this Association shall be open to any paid, full time law enforcement 
officer employed by any governmental agency within, or stationed within, the County of 
Los Angeles who is or was a canine handler or trainer, who is a current supervisor or manager 
of a K-9 unit, pending approval of the Board.  

This shall include members of the Military Police. 

Only Regular Members employed within Los Angeles County shall hold an Officer position.
Associate An Associate Membership may be held in the Association under the following conditions:
  • A person who trains canines for an established law enforcement agency. 
  • A retired law enforcement officer who was a canine handler or trainer. 
  • Any former full time law enforcement officer that was a supervisor or 
    manager of a K-9 unit 
  • Any other individual associated with police canines through special 
    circumstances, at the discretion of the Board.
